I have the alienbees/einstein lights. I'm trying an outdoor portrait session and I was going to be bringing one of the lights since I'm not sure of the quality/dappledness/etc of the lighting. I might use it for fill or for main light.
However, I was going to be shooting during the golden hour, and I know that from one failed experiment early on, that the light is way too cool for golden hour photography.
I have the warming gels and holder system, but it doesn't look like you can use softboxes and gels with this system.
Have you shot with strobes outdoors and gelled them? Do you do it without a modifier? It looks like I could only Grid, snoot, barndoor or probably umbrella if I do it. Is it just way too harsh not modifying it? Or is it fine since the outdoor light is bright?
