After my reinstallation, everything seems to be working ok. Except...
When I use any SEP 2 filter, it creates the same layer twice, using the first one as the base, so the second one is an additional application of the effect. Neither of these are what I want. I can't figure out how to keep it from creating the second layer.
Also, the SEP no longer shows the sliders by breakdown of color. Only the color filters.
SEP2 has two sections, Color Filter and Film Types, which deal with color luminance. The color sliders are under Film Types.

Just to the left of the Film Types header is a box that should have a check mark in it. If it doesn't then that section is "Off". Check the box and they should work just fine. Same goes for every other title bar - arrow compresses it, box turns it on/off.
And btw, click on the little arrows to the left of the "three at the top" and you'll get 3 or 4 more fine adjustment sliders under each. I went an entire year working with SEP2 before I found that and felt as stupid as I ever have. The tool was great with just the 3, but it's brilliant when you can use everything.

I knew about the lower little arrows, but had no idea about those adjustments under the 3!!!! This should make Bear guffaw :)
But unfortunately, the rest remains the same. I've always had all the little boxes are checked to the left. I've got the little Sensitivity down arrow clicked under Film Types, and none of those sliders does anything.
Well, at least it's working. If you want to PM me with the picture that's not responding for you I'd be happy to try it out to see if I see anything. Sometimes color can be real faint and seem non-reactive.
Hmmm. That totally worked. I've never had this happen with an image. I wonder wth...????
Could it be a 16-bit vs. 8-bit issue?
Who knows. I'll post once I figure it out.
It shouldn't since the sliders are luminance adjustments based on hue ranges which will translate to either 8 or 16 bit. Now if it's somehow sending a grayscale image over, that would explain it.
Are you invoking it from Lightroom or Photoshop? If Ps, click on the settings at the bottom of the selective tool frame and make sure that you have Apply filter to: set to "Image Composite" instead of "Active Layer".
