Basically my cd burner application locks up now when I go to try to burn a cd. I am basically unable to do any more work on my computer until I fix this problem because I can't take up any more of my limited hard drive space. I only have a 13gb hard drive and only 1.3gb available so you can see see I am in a real bind until I am able to back up a bunch of files to be able to clear more space. I have already uninstalled the Nero burning software and reinstalled it but to no avail. I have restarted many times, ran the disk cleaner and defragmenter and the burning application still locks up. I am quite certain it is a bad driver or .dll that is corrupted on my operating system and not a specific problem with the burning software. Does anyone have a clue how I might fix this problem or where to look for the problem? My only means of copying files without my cd burner is floppy discs and my 384 mb's of memory sticks. Not very good choices. Somebody please help me. Thanks.

The only things I could suggest would be first to try burning at a lower speed. Sometimes mine locks up when I use the fastest possible speed. Second you could try a different program. There may be a freeware burning program or a lite version of Easy CD Creator.

Thanks for trying to help. I will try your advice. The problem is that the very instant I hit 'write' that is when it locks up. I'll see what I can do.

Well it's fixed, by upgrading to the newest version of Nero. Just the demo for now for 2 weeks then they will want 49 bucks from me. #%&^*#$*&!! Not quite the fix I had in mind but time is not a luxury for me. Now back to the show, I mean, challenges.
