Don't know if there's malware for the iPad, but it sounds like something is running in the "background" (or hidden from you) ... could also be a "feature" of something you installed. For example, do you have something set up to automatically back up files to an internet site, or is the search engine set to "index' the "disk"?
I've never used an iPad, but I've seen a commercial for one on TV ... ;-)
Anyway, I just downloaded and installed something called "PhoneClean" on my computer, hooked up the iPad - it is currently running a scan.
With any luck, this will be at least a partial answer to my problems. My Google session told me that the CAUSE of my problems is having the latest iOS - something designed for the newest of gadgets, and guaranteed to kill our older ones *sigh*
No wonder I've moved from an iPhone to Android.... I am sick of Apple.
My iPad 2 is getting slow also. Especially after the last two software updates...
I'm not a techie, but I'm thinking the processor is having a hard time handling the latest iOS updates.
"My Google session told me that the CAUSE of my problems is having the latest iOS" - that. Apple's strategy is to make older models obsolete so the consumer would spend on newer model. Windows and Android have been good to me all these years. I stay far away from Apple products.
I always try to run the OS the device came with/was designed for, without upgrading, as long as it keeps working.
I find the latest/greatest is almost always more a pain than a boon. I'm using a 20 year old Mac right now -- I'm using it to control a 10 year old Mac (for internet) and to edit pictures (Photoshop 5.0).
The ipad II is definitely on its last legs (I have one and speak from experience).
Double-click the home button and then close all the running applications. This will help you isolate if there is something is running in the background that is killing the CPU.
Sadly Apple is not the same company it used to be.
The reason your machine is getting slower is with each update they release it is more and more demanding on hardware, thay are basically bullying you into having to buy a new machine.
My Macbook and iMac both run older OS and I am constantly bombarded with demands to upgrade, flash player wont work etc etc, there are ways around it but its getting very old very quick.
I've given up and ordered a Samsung Tab, instead :-)
My daughter is delighted to have an iPad, and after we've wiped everything off and started again with HER stuff, I'm sure it will be a little bit faster, and hang in there for while longer.
