Local store has them for $398 AU and a 10% gift card thrown in if I buy today. I have a Nikon D7000 and was thinking the other might be a good little companion to make extra use of shareable lenses. Who thinks I should do it?
Got D3300 myself to use for traveling and hiking, it's great so I would say yes :)
But my question would be if the money where better spent in upgrading the D7000 to D7200?
Thanks for the responses. When I went to the store they were sold out. I can still order one by the end of the month. The bonus gift card is off the table though. I'll think about it for a few days. I might get another lens instead.
I have gotten more use out of the $400 Coolpix A I got than I ever would have out of another DSLR. It's a D7000's innards packed into a pocketable body with a better 18.5 mm lens built in than you can get for your DX DSLR.

I found a Canon SX 510 on eBay for under $100 US, and I use it almost as much as I do my D7000. It's small, covers about the equiv of 18-500mm lenses converted to D7000 range, and also shoots great macro down to about a couple of mm from the lens. I got lucky with the buy, as it came with a 32G SD card, battery & charger.
It's my "grab" camera now, and gets a lot of shots that would be missed because it's so handy and flexible. It's saving a lot of wear on my Nikon.
The Nikon is still better, and more useful when the light is not so great, or if I need shallow DOF.
It also has a lot of features I don't use much, like full 19xx HD video and wifi.
