I ignore the Rant threads so that I don't have to put up with political ranting, raving and other nonsense on my favorite photography website. I get more than enough of it on my TV, email, snail mail, telephone, billboards, radio etc. I don't care if the message is from the "neo-con, let's suspend the bill of rights and the constitution, lock up all the foreigners" side or the " Flip-floppin', pothead, free-love, hippy" camp. If you wanna talk about photography, fine, let's talk, if you wanna talk about politics, at least have the courtesy to post in the rant forum.
This was not intended to be a political rant, and I don't want to see it degrade to one. It was simply a recommendation to watch a trailer and see a movie, just like this recent thread.
Also, for reference, the "General" forum says:
"No other place for it? Try here!"
This forum is specifically designed for non-photography-related discussions, since all of the other forums are geared towards specific elements of photography and/or the DPC web site.

The subject of the link is, by its nature, inflammatory and this thread, likely will, despite your good intentions, decay into a political rant of some kind.
Maybe there needs to be a politics forum (with the option to ignore the whole thing, like rant) for those who want to debate and discuss politics on this site. For me, it's quite annoying to open a thread with a non-political sounding subject and find a link to some politcal propaganda film.
