if you're lucky, you might connect with some local professionals through dpc. this is where being part of a local, professional community has it's benefits. when i started out, i knew no one. over time, though, from covering events and simply being out there, i have made a lot of friends and connections. we all help each other out routinely, many times at the last minute simply because things come up.
there are probably some local organizations you can join, as well.
it's a good thing that you're thinking about this now, rather than when it's too late. (this is also why having a dependable second shooter is a good thing.) |
