I'm having a problem with my laptop. It's a MSi. I have it connected up to my large monitor and I'm using a wireless mouse. About 10 minutes after I've turned it on my mouse becomes possessed...it will start scooting all over the desktop. Clicking on this n that, which will take me in and out of programs, delete things I'm working on (ya, it's fun). Because the laptop has 4 USB ports we are using a usb hub for my "bank" of other s*&t!!!
Do you have any idea why the mouse is possessed after a few minutes? So far it only does it once when I first turn it on, but it happens every stink'n time!!!
It's possible that your computer is responding to input from both the mouse and the touchpad at the same time. Try disabling the touchpad in the Windows Control Panel. (Assuming this is not a Mac.)

Yes, your right it's windows 8.1....BUT we can't figure out how to turn it off...found the touchpad but can't see it.

Step 3: Here, on the right-side, look for the option titled Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected and turn off the same to automatically turn off the touchpad when you connect a mouse to your Windows 8.1 notebook or netbook. That’s it!

(This method should work fine in both Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1)

Pretty soon she's going to discover that I've taken over her computer so she can't enter anything good anymore.

i had this problem with my toshiba laptop, had to turn off the touchpad as Robert instructed (I have no idea why this wasn't just set to a function key). I've also had this issue when the mouse batteries start to die.
So far so good!!! I'll give it a little while longer...
In the mean time...I have another question (I heard the collective sigh)
I have multiple EHD's all WD. I haven't ever hooked up my 3 TB drive since I've gotten the new computer. Yesterday I went to hook it up and it wouldn't appear on my Computer Page. All I got was a lock icon for it. Why won't it show up on my screen?
