i was at the Philly art museum over the weekend. the had a Paul Strand featured exhibition. I'm sorry i just dont get it. everything else in the museum i could appreciate, i tried, i really did, i just could see the appeal to his work. i listened to the audio commentary on certain pieces and not of it resonated with me.
Its not just Strand, its many of these other famous photographers that I just dont get mass appeal. maybe because I'm a student of digital photography and the processes the used i just dont appreciate.
maybe photography in general just isn't able to convey to me what the artist is intending to show.
all the other mediums its seems i can get a better grasp the artist intention, with photography its seems to be just aesthetic appeal or subject matter for me. |
