I've only received about 2 wish lists, ever.
I have one in a current challenge. It seems like if someone really wants to buy an image, it would be nice to see who made the request so that we could contact them. Or at least tell them it's up in prints (if we put it there).
I would actually be against this. Very few people check that box anyway, but it's quite possible that someone might do so just to say they really, really liked it - like more than a favorite - without having any real desire to own it. If someone likes an image well enough to want to own it and also has a place or use for it, s/he can always contact the photographer. Allowing the photographer to make the contact could easily lead to problems. You (vawendy) might want to contact them simply to say thank you or even to offer them a free copy, but someone else might push a sale.
To preserve at least the appearance of anonymmity, I think the wish-lister's identity should remain hidden during the voting period, but I think it's a great idea to have it displayed afterward.
I've had one 'Wish List' photo and if I could find out who it was I was willing to send them the full res pic so they could have it printed themselves. Just like I do my real family, they pay for the printing.
Really? People are always listing wishes on my pictures. "I wish this were in focus, I wish you'd have processed this differently, I wish you bothered to remove the dustsbunnies, I wish you could have entered a different photo....."
