As mentioned in another thread, Beetle, her hubby plamprec and this ole fella will be visiting both the North and South Islands of New Zealand in the latter part of December and early January.

Ray if you are travelling by car heading south from wellington to Auckland we are an hour or so from wellie on SH1 would love to meet up any time is good

Not sure how travelling south from Wellington to Auckland works, but we won't be, anyway, sorry.
We're flying from Christchurch to Auckland, then driving north to Whangaparoa. We won't be doing loads of sight seeing on the North Island this time around.... mosty just hanging out with my Dad.
So I guess we won't get to see YOU, Nick.... that's a pity :-(

If you would like shooting buddies, Hibiscus coast photographic club members would be a good start, they know all the really good spots to go to that others may not.they are based in Orewa. I can email you contacts for them if you like
I suggest that you check the tides for the day that you plan to visit Moeraki Boulders. I thought that low tide would be best and I was wishing for more water closer to the boulders.

the best part of my new zealand experience was the mt john astronomy tour in lake tekapo. you'll also DEFINITELY need to spend time at night shooting the church of the good shepherd.

Thanks, Robert. The boulders are already on the list. I have no idea if we can afford the time to work around tide times, but now that you've said that, I'll keep it in mind and try to go there at high tide.
