I want to get more power out of my speedlights. Instead of buying a Canon 600speedlight. How about i buy another 430 ex ii speedlight. And trigger them together using two different triggers to maintain power control.
Would this actually yield more WS power or light than a 600ex-rt?? 430ex gn is 43 and 600ex gn is 58. I wonder where the dual mod would would put the GN.
I don't shoot much flash on the fly, mostly studio setup stuff where I expect to dance the lights around to get what I want. That said I have never had much luck with TTL. The camera always seems to want something different than I want, because if you are using multiple off camera flashes, why would you want them all doing the same thing? The key and fill and rim lights all want different settings.
That said if you are looking at ganging flashes, Strobist has a good article on the basics.
I ended up with a few cheap Vivitar 285s (before Cactus bought them and cheaped them out) at $80 a pop that would fry my camera if I ever mounted them on the hotshoe, and sometimes just rubber band them together for beastly light.
