Anybody recognize it?
It looks like a wasp, but it seems to have no stinger.
Also, it was digging into this flower, not just collecting pollen. I wondered whether it was preparing to lay eggs.

Paper wasp, and it definitely has a stinger.

Where's the stinger, Shannon?

They have a retractable stinger with no barb, so they can jab you more than once.

Yep. I knew wasps differed from bees in that they can sting you as many times as they like.
