Now Michael Moore states he won't come unless state funds are used to pay his fee. He's refusing to take any private funds. He states it's a FREE SPEECH issue. But it's not a free speech issue! It's a $37,000 state funded FEE SPEECH issue. He's perfectly welcome to come here and speak all he wants for FREE! And I thought Republicans were supposed to be the greedy ones.

Michael Moore addressed California State San Marcos students Tuesday night in a speech that was almost not going to happen.
University President Karen Haynes canceled the filmmaker's visit to the campus because she refused to spend state money on partisan politics, and she didn't have enough time to bring another speaker whose viewpoints could balance Moore's liberal bent.
The cancellation caused an uproar on campus, and the student government raised money on its own to finance Moore's visit, which cost $37,000.

Actually, Tom had the story exactly correct, as it stood at the time he posted it three weeks ago. The interesting thing is that while the original date was scheduled around the 15th, it seems he snuck into town a little early.
Also, and interesting aside to this story: Sean Hannity, Michael Medved and perhaps other conservative commentators (seems I remember someone else, but I can't think who off the top of my head) have challenged Michael Moore to open up one or more of his speeking-to-the-choir shutins and actually debate him on the issues of the campaign. Notably, Hannity offered to debate Moore in his appearance in Utah earlier this week. And, it was Hannity who suggested that the winner of the debate gets the speeking fee, to be donated to the charity of the winners choice. But still, Moore hides from critics of his propoganda. Hmmm.
I'm NOT a MM fan. SEen his movies, don't buy his stuff for a second. He's got his own political agenda and bends information just like any President or VP.
