Finding that out is not really easy, I think. Transfer software adds entries to the Exif data, and a program that shows all Exif data might give you a clue.
Or you open the jpg in a text editor - you will see a lot of weird characters, but also maybe a string that was added by the software, such as in my case, digiKam:

After pure file transfer it does not contain the digiKam strings.
