I have an Anker Battery that I want to use to power my little camera for a long time. What I really need is a 4.3 x 1.65mm DC 12v male plug (Battery end) to 2.5 x 0.7mm male plug (Camera end). Thing is, I 2 cables, one that fits the batter and the other that fits the camera. Both have their own sizes on their ends, but in the middle they are both 5.5 x 2.5 mm male ends. I need something to connect them, but can't seem to find anything. I searched (Maybe poorly) for a 5.5 x 2.5 mm Female/Female but no luck. Help!
There are some items on ebay that require some sodering, but I don't have the tools and I fear what could happen if I do it myself (Camera catching fire.)
I actually called them in Japan and got the WORST customer service EVER. Japan has pretty high standards but I was put on hold for an hour (I had my phone set to speaker and was messing around so I lost track of time) I hung up, called them back, the lady helping me had gone home. Then I had to explain things all over again. I ended up emailing their support in the U.S and got my answer as to cable sizes, but they didn't have any adapters available.
wow, that bites, i have no luck finding that stuff on line as I dont understand the cables. I usually go into a radio shack and show them both ends and tell them to connect them. a few times they have not been able to help
I have a pair of wire cutters and a soldering iron that can resolve all your problems. :)
Is it simple enough to do? Or would I be stepping into a mess if I were to make the attempt on my own? Are there companies out there that do custom wires?
It is not that hard to do at all if you know how to solder. I am sure you can find a tech shop somewhere where you are that will do it for you if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. Anywhere they repair electronics/appliances will have someone that can do it for you. An electrician or electronic tech could do it for you. Know any geek kids who are techies?

I don't. Right now I'm looking for an electronic repair shop but I can't seem to find one. Everything electronic gets sent back to their manufacturers in Japan it seems. Gonna have to do a little more looking around I guess. Thanks though.
