Is there a section on the forums specifically designated for standing around shouting "squee!" whilst simultaneously clapping your hands like a child and breaking into dances including "the running man", "the robot" and several other moves from the 80s and 90s, finished off by a really, really bad break dance backspin where you get stuck in an awkward position and can't get up because of your middle-aged back issues?? Yea? That place is here?

Haha! Yes, you're right. I've had the T3i for a while and it's the only camera I've used on here so far. The 5D is the new one. :D I think I will be changing it to my default when I've taken some shots with it.

Congrats! The 5D MkIII is one helluva machine. I too recently upgraded, and waffled between the 5D MkIII and the 6D, and finally settled on the 6D.

I also looked at both but i realized the only major advantage of 5DIII for me was the advanced auto-focus system. Since I mainly use fast primes and shoot in low/indoor light, i use the center point and recompose anyway so much more sensitive center-point of 6D wins it for me. Of course it was cheaper and offers GPS/WiFi. Image quality-wise, there was no difference, 6D has cleaner high-ISO images if pushed compared to 5DIII as well. I am pretty happy with 6D over my older 5DII. The high-ISO capability has made my F4 lenses very, very usable on it.
Yes, I did the same before I bought this one. I was almost going to get a 6D but went for the 5D in the end because of its reported versatility.
I am sure if you shoot sports/action or events, 5DIII is the better choice between the two.

Like you, I use almost exclusively the center focus point, and rarely track moving subjects. The AF performance of the 6D center point is actually phenomenal, but for overall AF performance, the 5D MkIII blows it away. There are other advantages to the 5D MkIII as well, but for another of my key areas of interest, astrophotography, the 6D actually comes out on top. So for me, the 6D was a relatively easy decision, though I still may make a leap back to the 5D series some time after the release of the MkIV... that release probably will not happen for 12-18 months, so I'm at least 2 years out from that decision :-)
