We've just lost one of the greatest writers of the 20th century and, arguably, THE greatest Latin American writer ever, though Pablo Neruda and Jorge Luis Borges certainly are in the running for that crown as well. If you've never read "100 Years of Solitude" or "Love in the Time of Cholera", now's the time to do it. Rest in peace, old man :-(

I read the 2 books, both are fantastic.
RIP Gabriel Garcia Marques :(

One of, if not THE most favourite authors in my mind. Both books mentioned were fantastic as were others of his.
Yes, RIP, Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It was an honour to share this Earth with you.
