i'm hoping someone can give me some advice... i recently noticed all my photos with my Nikon D7100 have one or two small spots.
the spot is visible through the view findeer, and is there even when i switch lenses, so it neither of those parts
i have used the clean sensor function several times, and have cleaned the mirror as well. i even did a mirror up and tried a few short puffs of air on the sensor in a dark room (or, at least i think it was sensor)
is there some other element in the camera that i can get at to clean? or is this likely going to need a trip to the camera shop?
Can you show us an image with the spots present, please?
FWIW, an obstruction on the sensor wouldn't show in the viewfinder, and one on the mirror wouldn't show in the image. Also, you don't need a "dark room" to inspect the sensor. In fact, it makes it sort of hard to do :-)
Anyway, post or link to an example of the phenomenon and we can help you figure out what causes it.
Yeah, looks like standard sensor dust to me. There are many other spots as well. It could definitely use a good cleaning. Perhaps it's just a coincidence that you see two other spots through your viewfinder that happen to be relatively in the same place.
