I finally went to register my lenses on Nikon's site...I just got two new ones, but never did the old ones.
Then I discovered something weird -- my Nikon 16-35 F4 VR does not have a serial number on the lens. I bought it from B&H a year ago; it came with the box, which has a serial number, and the US serial number warranty card, so it looks legit. The receipt says it's a USA lens too.
BUT: The lens itself does not have a serial number on it...anywhere that I can find.
Is this a "defect"? Does yours have a serial number?
BTW - The box says it's made in Japan too, unlike most of my Nikon lenses which were made in China or Hong Kong.
