I couldn't agree more!! The ignore option has become my BEST FRIEND! :-) They may as well change the forum topic to politics 'cause really that's all the Rant forum is nowadays anyways, except for that glorious "DPC Record Attempt" post. ;-)
Another reason to stop these political (accomplish nothing thread, except exhibit sheer ignorance) is that the thread eats up valuable web space which can be put to use for the enhancement of photography. I mean, what do political bends have to do with the art of photography?
Web space is a finite resource and since we are here to learn let those who want to rant their prejudices in a site which allocates its space for this purpose. Our photography web real estate is too valuable to have it preempted by zealots.
I went to Border's this morning, thinking I could get some work done without being tempted to check the internet every two minutes (no internet at Border's because the wireless cost is ridiculous...another rant in itself) and just as I started thinking that I could really dig this being away from home thing, another man joined the guy sitting at the table next to me and they proceeded to talk about politics VERY LOUDLY FOR A VERY LONG TIME. It was just liked they'd gone down the rant forum here and read every topic. Of course, political discussion in a cafe isn't really inappropriate like I feel political discussion here is but OMG IT WAS VERY ANNOYING and it made me think of this thread.
