Please help me before I throw both out of my window: it seems that they can connect by wi-fi and or bluetooth. If I try via wi-fi Kindle Fire can't see the iPhone wi-fi, basically there's no visible network on the connections list on the Kindle Fire.
If I use bluetooth Kindle can see iPhone and it seems that they connect each other but when I try to open an internet page on the browser it says that there's no wi-fi connection - of course, it's connected via bluetooth!!!!!
It sounds kind of like you want to tether these for shared internet. Tethering basically means that the iPhone is connected to the internet via 3G, and other devices use that 3G connection.
To do this, your carrier needs to support tethering, and you need a wireless plan that allows tethering. Some more information here: //support.apple.com/kb/ht3574
Exactly what you said guys. It seems that the bluetooth works because I can see the blue bar on top of my phone and Kindle says it's conncted, but when I try to open a page on the browser on the Kindle it says I need to verify my wifi connection.
FYI, I eventually said screw it and purchased a 3rd party tethering application on my Droid, not sure what the Apple equivalent is, but I'm betting you'll find a good 'app for that'... :D

Tethering surely works on the iPhone. I'm now conncting my computer (I'm away from home) via iPhone hotspot. The problem should be with Kindle.

Ok, this is an interesting clue.
I wonder if:
1. The kindle uses a different (incompatible) WiFi standard?
2. The kindle is set to Ad-Hoc mode?
