We don't have "winter" here in Florida...any suggestions???
Solstice literally means "sun stop" in reference to the halting of the progressive lowering of it's hightest point above the southern horizon (in the northern hemisphere). For the next six month or so the arc of the sun's path (ecliptic) will move progressively northward, with the northern hemisphere days getting progressively longer. Halfway there will be the equinox ("equal nights") marking the beginning of Spring/Fall ...
If forced to make a suggestion maybe try concentrating on the themes of "sun" and "stop" ...
Winter Solstice is when the Sun stops moving and then starts moving in the opposite direction hence, days get longer. Celebrations include bonfires, dancing, singing. It's a joyful time and a time to reflect.

You may not have much Winter, but you do have Winter Park ;-)
ha ha...not to mention...Winter Garden, Winter Springs, Winter Haven...but not a single one that give you an idea of it being "Winter"...or long sun days (it's always sunny here!!!)
