"Street photography exhibit in DC
If you're in DC this summer, stop in at the Hirshhorn (branch of Smithsonian) for "Open City," an excellent exhibit of street photography since 1950. Includes work by the generally accepted masters of the canon, like Robert Frank, Garry Winogrand and Lee Friedlander, as well as more contemporary examples. My own impression is the newer stuff is far less compelling than work by those three gentlemen, but that could be my own failure of imagination. Here's the info to get there:
