It's not as bad as it sounds. I'm 31 and survived it just fine. Each year seems to go by a bit faster than the last, but they also seem to improve as I get baby-steps closer to figuring out how to live.
It's not about what you've lost, it's how you use what you've gained.
30 is great... I finally began to feel like I was understanding life and how things work. I am fast approaching (like a freight train!) 35 now, and see it as a blessing more than curse. I REALLY understand life more now, every day brings new insight and meaning. I look forward to this birthday and the subtle senses of personal growth, independence, and quiet retrospection that come along for the ride.
Happy 30th, Lori... enjoy it. You are young, beautiful, wise, and a hell of a lot luckier than a lot of people. Enjoy it!!!!!!
ps...scores are irrelevant and have no effect on your self-worth...besides, mean people suck! ;o)

Thank you, and thanks everyone else, too! I know scores are irrelevant. I just hope that I'll improve for my own personal wants! Tonight's my second photography class, surely I'll learn something new.
Dear Lori, Don't feel bad, everyone goes through a patch of low scores. High scores AND low scores seem to come in groups.
As for turning 30 - that sort of bothered me, too. But now I'm 49 and actually enjoy being older. You gain a lot of wisdom as you get older (hopefully) and can enjoy life a lot more without worring about the small stuff.
Next week will probably be a lot brighter, I predict higher scores on the next challenges and a Happy Birthday for you!!!

Now if you want to feel young, I am close to 50, and I have to fast today because tomorrow I am having my first colonoscopy, oh boy! ;( You have 20 years before you need to think about that! Hmmm... I wonder if I can get some of the pictures and perhaps there can be an "inside out" challenge. (Ok, sorry to gross anyone out... but I am very unhappy today.)
Thanks to all of you, and I appreciate the Geico reference, as well. It made me laugh anyway. I had a horrible photography class tonight... I actually left in tears because my camera won't meter properly and my instructors have no idea what's going on (I'll probably start a thread about that later or tomorrow when I feel there's still hope left for me). Right now, though, it's off to bed... I'm just ready to wash my hands of this day.
Oh, and Neil, I hope your colonoscopy goes well... I guess my week's not THAT bad.
