I was looking at some of Annie Leibovitz's new stuff and started looking at Pascal Dangin (the fellow who does her retouching) and found this great interview with him in the New Yorker. “Just by the fact that he works with you, you think you’re good,” Leibovitz said. “If he works with you a lot, maybe you think, Well, maybe I’m worthwhile.”
Well worth the read, not so much how to, but when and why.
For how to I started rethinking how I use curves (which seems to be Dagin's master ability) and I stumbled on this introduction to Levels and Curves which taught me a few new tricks that seem to be in Dagin's toolbox. |
