So Yay, got a somewhat personalized letter from Adobe today, saying that between Sept 11 and Sept 17th an unauthorized third party illegally accessed my information for my card, bank etc etc.
They are setting up , with an Experian, a free account for a year, a one year credit monitoring membership with a ProtecteMyAlert membership.
And basically, that is all the help they will give you with what they say could end up with fraudulent transactions, identity theft, illegal charges. They also say that if you do go ahead and as suggested , put a fraud alert on your credit report: it will also delay your ability to obtain credit and could possibly harm your credit rating.
Their ending is; we regret any inconvenience or concern this incident may cause you.

whoa... no -- I just got the one awhile back saying that they'd been hacked, and that there was no evidence that there has been no indication of unauthorized activity...
I got one that said I had to create a new password...
Ditto, and I did that. Interestingly, I got a snail mail letter from my BANK telling me they'd heard from Adobe that it was possible I'd been compromised, and that they were keeping an eye on things, but that they had detected nothing untoward thus far...
You were one of the "lucky" ones, Juliet. Definitely contact your bank and credit card companies and let them know. Or forward the Adobe email to them.

The only thing I can say about this, is that I signed up for my fabulous 1 year membership, checked my credit score and I am int eh 800's WHOHOOOOO and then found out the kiddies Daddy had used my SSSSSSFNNN to get all sorts of crap in the past.
Coincidence that a couple of days after getting my letter that Yahoo! notified me of suspicious activity on my account and needed to change my password?
Okay, from what I can discover. This is in regard as to whether you have a subscription for the crap CS6 or whether you bought ANY of the Adobe products with you CC....
IF you got a letter, then your CC info was hacked, if it was you get the somewhat personal letter from Adobe and the offer of the 1 year subscription.
(( Adobe is also offering customers, whose credit or debit card information was involved, the option of enrolling in a one-year complimentary credit monitoring membership)
If you did not get the letter and just a password change, you are fine and dandy. (and I hate you for it) =P

I just got the letter today. I'd already had the change-password letter.
