I think i have done this in the past but it was not very intuitive. I can see a section to add my commnets to the replies under my photos BUT can not find any where to edit/add comments under the "Photographer's Comments" section. This is for an image that is already uploaded and is in the gallery. How do i do it?

Display your image and under it in the section on the left "Photograph Information", there is a link to "Edit the details of the image".

There are two ways to do this:

1. Navigate to your image in the challenge results. In the top left box under the image, at the bottom is a link that says "edit the details of this image". Click on that and it takes you to the dialogue page with the comments box.

or

2. Go to your portfolio, click on the image thumbnail, and the page that turns up should have all sorts of fields for you to enter information, including comments for the image.

I think that it's one of the few perks of being a paid-up member instead of just a Registered User

Seems like that. I don't get the "Edit the details of the image" link being no longer a paying member...

Who knew???

The only thing you can do is leave a regular comment below the image.
