We are traveling. Have a three month old MAC pro laptop with solid state drive.
It seems to be frozen. Left it on, went out, came back and it was unresponsive. 7 percent battery left so plugged in the charger. The only thing we can do now is press the power button and get to the apple login screen. The user icons are there but don't do anything.
The computer is now fully charged.
If this were my iphone, I'd remove the battery. But this thing is completely sealed. Any suggestions?

Hold the power button down until the laptop turns off (10 seconds or so). Hit the power button again and it should boot up normally.

Tried that. Gets to the screen with the user icons.
Nothing works. The pointer comes up but nothing responds to clicking.

Oh my! It's the mouse!
Pulled out the Magic Mouse and it works!
Rebooted again and the mouse pad now functions as well!
So odd. Thanks anyway.

They're designed like that to make sure the glass cracks when you drop them.
