Does anyone know what is the issue? I am start seeing this very in last couple of weeks and the problem is it is out of return policy but still in tamron warranty and not sure how well Tamron guys would treat and solve problem.
When I am at aperture like 2.8, 4.5 image looks good but when I go higher values like f9 and above the image start getting over exposed. see below image for reference.
This test is in AV mode and saw same behavior in Tv too.

I tested with 24-70 it tries to go dark but not really goes where as I did the same with 24-105mm and it goes very dark. What you said is happening with other lens but not with 24-70mm

Bizarre that it's lens-specific. Cory might be onto the aperture thing still, though. Perhaps the aperture lever/connection for that lens is busted.
I was thinking/hoping more inexpensively (before you mentioned that all is well with other lenses), and that you may have mistakenly activated an exposure bracketing function.

Seriously though, better now than after the warranty expires. I had to send my 100-400 back for an AF issue in the first couple of months - it happens, no biggie. Just get it fixed up.

Yes I am trying to get hold of them and trying to find out if they have any local service center in NJ.
Bad news - I got this lens from Amazon warehouse where someone ordered and returned with-in 3 days so I got a low price for the lens. Now hit with this issue and sent to Tamron to cover it under warranty and they refused because as per them I became second owner even though first owner never registered the lens with them. They ask me to pay $250 to fix the lens.
Next step: I called back Amazon and discussed the issue and they didn't know that the lens had problem so move on to the next step:
Good news: Amazon is going to return the product back and they are doing price adjustment of the new lens to cover the difference that I paid for the used one. The reason is because used product does not have warranty and also it is not transferable so nothing can be done to anyone who buys a used product. I ordered new one and got price adjustment too! so final cost same as used one but going to get a new lens with 6 years warranty :)
By the way here are the photographs of Tamron 24-70 lens. The results are promising and do feel that it is a good lens not just result but when it comes to the price that I will have to pay if go with Canon 24-70 2.8.
Great outcome. I would understand Tamron's reluctance to cover it under warranty if you were really the second owner, but this was an open-box return, not a used lens. I think they should have been more understanding. Kudos to Amazon for making it right.

I'm a bit dismayed with Tamron's support in this case - but as always, Amazon made it right. Love that place.
To be fair, this is a very fast response for repair, and I'd no expectation that Tamron cover a 2nd party lens. Canon and Nikon would surely not care, the rp was saved by amazon.
I received both lenses New one from Amazon and the old one from Tamron. New one tested with the issues that I had with older and everything is working fine! Old one is going back to Amazon tomorrow!
