I am growing extremely weary of this trend and am having thoughts of quitting DPC and photography completely and permanently.
This happens all the time now and makes it less and less of a fun thing to enter images with this kind of voting. i't's de-motivating to say the least. :(

After 4 votes.....6.9
After 10 votes....5.2
After 12 votes....4.9
dropped .6 in 3 votes, and that was at 15 votes, but it was because of a single troll vote of 1.
One vote can skew things badly in the beginning -- either high or low. You just have to wait and see what pans out as the votes go on. Things don't really settle in until around 40, and then they can still make major changes!
I simply cannot digest the fact that one voter sees an 8 in a picture and the next a 3. Or that 10 voters see 7 and 11th 3.
That's easy. Go out and poll 10 random people to see how much they like X sports team. You will get a wide variety of responses.
It's all personal taste.
