My (older) Canon has a minimum ISO setting of 80 ... it may be that their "base" setting is 160, and that the best effect will be obtain with even multiples (or factors) of that, i.e. 80, 320, 640, etc..
I'm guessing that any calculation will be less prone to error if fractional values can be avoided. for example, my native image size is 2816 pixels -- for DPC I usually resize to 704 pixels (exactly 25%) rather than 800 because I think (but can't prove) that the resized image will be more accurate if the calculation can avoid using "parts" of a pixel. |
