Has anyone tried something like a lensbaby edge for this kind of thing? For architecture and landscapes, you want the precision of a tilt shift on a tripod, but for hand held portraiture, I'm wondering if a lensbaby would be more cost effective. You're not going to shoot the whole wedding with a TS lens (not tilted, anyway), but for the 3 shots in every wedding where you'd want an effect like this, would a much cheaper lensbaby be good enough?
Mark, no, I don't have a TS lens and I don't do weddings :-) But I thought this would be cool. Ann, I think a LB would probably give the same effect and yes, would be easier to use. But I'm no expert!!
Very nice. I have been tempted to get one. One of my favourite wedding photographers, Jonas Peterson uses one a lot to stunning effect. Too much money for me at the moment but i may get back into the lensbaby for a few shots at a wedding or use my zeiss 80mm medium format lense with a tilt adapter to get a rough but similar effect.
