Safe to say I entered the right shot

Hi all, it seemed my entry unanimously received the comment of it being too busy, with poor lighting.

ENTRY


With editing, this is what I've come up with. How does this compare with the original version. Please comment if you can, so I can try turn this into a learning exercise.

Thanks for your comment. Oliver. I imagine that level of editing (cloning out) would be illegal in advanced?

I like your entry better. I believe the issue -- for me -- was that it was like so many others --- the black background, colored smoke. It is a wonderful photo, however.
