Hi, everyone. I've been a member of DPC since 2007 but took a hiatus for several years. I entered only two challenges then and have since entered four in the past month or so (two are still in voting).
Photography has been a passion of mine since I got a Kodak Instamatic X-15 at 8-yrs-old and burned through many rolls of film and cube flashes. I loved that camera - it was as if I had discovered a secret world through those lens - little bugs, flowers, etc. I winged it as yearbook photographer in high school with a wonderful 35mm manual Olympus OM-1 (back when we developed our own b/w film).
That was all was many years ago, and as an adult I've rediscovered this love of mine. I was able to purchase a Canon 30D in early 2007 . Participating in challenges on DPC - or heck, just viewing them - has given me a lot insight into what really makes a good photograph. I'm also taking some online courses as well. And the times that I've messaged a few of you on here, I've gotten wonderful feedback.
I look forward to participating more, as time allows between work and two young children. Even though I would love to win ribbons, my goal is primarily to become a better photographer. And I welcome constructive criticism. :) |
