Hi folks! This is about the time of the year when we start talking about our annual get together at Rickett's Glen. For the past several years, we have had this event around the first weekend in June.
A few of us have kicked around the idea of moving this to the fall, or at least experimenting with that idea for a change of pace. I know that my own calendar has already gotten a bit busy around our usual June time frame... so I thought I'd toss out the idea of having our GTG later in the year.
Specifically (looking at a calendar that's filling up all over the place), I was looking at the weekend of October 5-6 (our "official" GTG would be the 6th, with a dinner the night before, probably at TGIF as per usual).
This would give us a chance to hopefully get some fall foliage and a new perspective on things. What do you guys think?
I am open for October! I was there last fall, some of the photographs can be seen here!. It is beautiful to feel the environment and then you will forget that you have camera!
I'm penning in the date on my calendar. It looks like it will work out now but who knows! I'm in for Kettle Corn! Any hotel suggestions? I will probably make it a 3 or 4 day trip.

There are couple, last GTG I stayed at "Central Park Hotel". They charged about $60/night. This is just a two bedroom unit including electricity and hot/cold water. They do have TV unit but not many channels come! Also the other issue would be cell phone signal as you will have tough time! Over all unit is clean and definitely a place you can spend a night with no expectation! Did I tell you that they have bar open late hours ;)

Sounds good...no phone is perfect because work can't track me down!! And the bar...that's the icing on the cake!
We can still plan on that weekend. Unfortunately, I have a wedding on that Saturday, but I can always leave early in the morning and catch up with everyone at the usual meeting point in the morning...
