I've been asking for a rope to pull me out the HDR hole for years, and finally had to just buy a new computer that didn't have Photomatix installed.

I think I am at the end of "Gearfaggotry" phase and in the "Dammit, I suck" hole. Very accurate! ;)

Definitely worth recycling! I used to have a dark-background version as my desktop background... to serve as a reminder.
I've yet to really break free of Gearfaggotry, but I've been very fortunate not to fall into the HDR Hole.
