I shot for it last night... after over 50 frames, realized I had my camera set on RAW only. Oops. Had to reshoot.
Pleased with my entry... even though I'm sure it'll fail. :P
Tell me again why we like minimal? I mean, for found shots it really does kind of suck. You can go out at the right time of day, get your golden hour lighting, but you can't control your subject, you can't control the lighting on your subject, you can't control the shadows, the contrast, and so on, and so on. So I'm sitting here changing the few settings on my camera that I can for jpeg. Upping the contrast just a tad, upping the sharpness and thinking how much better I could do it in post processing. Yes, I'm making sure that I'm getting the right exposure, but I usually try for that any way.
So for studio shots, I understand that this is an excellent exercise, but for found shots, I still don't quite get it...
oh ... wait ...
My post processing is going to take 20 seconds instead of minor tweaking for hours!!!
AWESOME!! I love minimal editing!! Whooot! (Am I the only one that ends up playing much, much longer doing stupid little tiny tweaks long after the real processing is long over?)

No.
Here I thought that minimal would be wonderful because I wouldn't spend so much time editing.
Well. I didn't.
However, since I was shooting minimal, I took many, many, many more photos, and bracketed each stupid one! So I might not be editing them, but I have so many more to go through.
Argh!!
Moan, sigh, bitch, complain, sigh, complain some more, moan some more... you get the idea. :)

As long as it's not a shot of a pelican using an abacus to add up the acorns being stacked by a long row of squirrels.
Got mine in. I Have this little wheel on the top of the 5D2 body, see? And it has on it C1, C2, C3, see? And my C2 is set to shoot RAW + medium JPG, to automatically bracket, AWB, extra saturation, extra clarity, f/8, ISO 1600, and I'm ready for anything Mr. Minimal can throw my way, at the turn of a dial...
