So this post ended up inspiring me to start a blog to detail everything about starting my photography business and making the leap from leaving my day job to doing photography full time. Partly to share for others and mostly to hold myself accountable. I just thought I'd post it here in case anyone is interested in following or participating.
i m still reading but i gotta say that quote in the first sentence really rings true. I agree photographic vision is necessary, but i think gear can help facilitate things and i try to stay out of gear vs photographic skill arguments. Now i have a quote i can use if approached with the age old conversation about gear and vision.

edit: totally agree with cashflow. i "cashflow" so to speak. I purchase with a card, then benefit from the cash rewards, and pay off at the end of the month.
