the good thing is they stole your camera, supply the cops with the serial number and keep and eye on craigslist and ebay.
if you think you find you camera for sale or auction ask for sample pictures, i think you can grab the serial number from the exif somehow, or just ask for the serial to check the manufacturers specs and if the warranty still applies, lol.
if you suspect or find them contact the police asap and Craigslist, paypal and ebay, it will usually entail you purchasing the goods and ebay and paypal will usually reimburse the funds, but keep them involved. never meet the person in person unless you have the police with you or have them advise you.
there are countless stories i read about people getting their camera and stuff back becuase the thieves are usually idiots looking for a quick buck. |
