But my point is: how much is worth responding literally to a challenge? Is such a picture worth keping more then for the challenge? Would you frame it and save it?
You have a great knack for choosing your subjects and running far with them, so for me the single pear picture on a wire shelf tells only that people ran for chips instead.

It's an interesting and valid question. No. I wouldn't frame it and save it. But then again, I wouldn't frame and save any of the outtakes, either. No matter how hard I try, I just don't see things in an artistic way. I guess I will always be more of a documentary shooter than an artistic one. I picked the shelf shot because it meant more to me at the time. Being from the midwest, hurricanes are still rather bizarre to me. We may stock up on food before a blizzard in Minnesota, but the run on water is a new one. That being said and done, it wasn't an enthralling documentary photo, either.
In a town nearby, they have a drive thru convenience store. One night a guy decided to climb in through the window and rob the place. It didn't go so well for him since the owner had taken similar precautions.

Someone gets murdered withing a few blocks of this place every couple of months. I have little doubt that the rifle has served it's purpose - and also serves as a visual deterrent.
