Oh, you'll be a happy camper. PennyClick uses her 24-105 as the go-to lens on HER 7D now, it's especially stellar on the cropped sensor. And of course I use it on the ff 5D2. But be sure to make friends with "lens correction" in the RAW processor, there's noticeable barrel distortion at the wide end. Easily corrected.
Yup. My bad consists of the 10-22, 24-105, and 100-400 now. I'll throw in some specialty ones depending upon the situation. But that's pretty much my everyday lens. Sweet!!
Well, on the serious side, at either 22mm or 24mm you'd be at the extreme end of either lens, and my understanding is that zoom lenses usually look their best in something like the middle 80-90% of their range.

I am ever so glad I read this... I thought that my eyesight was going because I am getting older (shaddup you younguns... who asked you).
I will definitely look that up and see if that rectifies things a tad.
The 24-105 is my walkaround lens and I love it. It can get heavy hanging on your neck on long photo days but it's manageable. Awesome lens.
I noticed that it was a little heavy, but it's still awesome.
Not sure if you're still using the neck strap that came with your camera but I ended up getting a padded strap. It made a big difference when carrying around the camera for long periods of time.

Yeah. PennyClick has it nailed; when I got the 16-35mm f/2.8L she grabbed ahold of the 17-40mm f/4L, so now she has 10-22, 17-40, and 24-105 -- accordingly, she has the sweet spot for every increment :-) She's my sweetie!
