So I made the leap and got the 5D mkii. I'm still thinking about keeping my 7D as a backup.
Anyway...I wasn't sure whether I'd notice the difference or not between the 7D and the full frame sensor of the 5Dii. The difference is absolutely real. My prime lenses render sharper on the 5dii, the colors are better, the exposure is cleaner, and the bokeh is smoother. Also, there's no comparison between "seeing" full frame and the view in the 7D. I love that a 50mm lens is actually 50mm.
Here's a series of shots I took in my front yard as soon as the battery was charged. These are just off the cuff -- not even putting much thought into it.
