I'm assuming that the diopter only has affect on manual focus and has nothing to do with auto focus...right or wrong?
Canon PowerShot S3 IS

The diopter setting on the viewfinder affects how your eyes see it there -- nothing to do with whether or not the lens itself is in focus.
