the composition is very nice, great sun flare but its needs more, either is needs to be whimsical or tack sharp, its just sits in the middle yearning to be a bit more.
if you have a chance, try to redo it and really try to get some sharpness to it. the foreground is a bit blown and lacks real details.

Thanks. I think you are right. I did pop the exposure on the foreground with a gradient because I exposed for the sky in camera. I think the sharpness is a problem too and It probably has to do with the fact that I shot my brackets handheld and I did not use L glass. There really is a difference in the sharpness with L glass and the EF-S lenses!! No comparison there.

Shoot in RAW - frankly, I could have probably gotten close to the same DR, without the strangeness.
You darkened the sun / did a highlight recovery too hard.

I think you gave me a few things to think about. Thanks. I will have to watch the highlight/shadows adjustments in the future. Of course I always shoot in raw.
About the strangeness, are you referring to the super saturated contrasty colors?
