This is just a quick little article on a local news site this morning. A photographer taking pictures of merchandise had his lights a little too close to a fire sensor when they got hot and triggered the sprinklers. The store is a really nice kitchen store, so all I can think about is, "FIRE SALE!" I can't wait...
What sort of trouble do you think this photographer is in? Surely the store's insurance covers the damage, but other than doing the job for free now, will he be held fiscally responsible for anything? Can the store sue or anything? If he's a pro he may have insurance of his own, but he may not.
Oh yeah, these sprinklers have little glass tubes full of liquid holding back the valve. When the liquid heats up, the tube bursts, and the valve opens. Releasing *loads* of water.
