Methinks that 4k displays will actually be pretty common in professional and semi-pro applications in 5 years. I think that the prices on them will drop even more dramatically than we're used to seeing.
just got a new 27" imac quad core 3.4 i7 with 2gb graphics card
wowsers its awesome looking at raws from 5d mk2 so much detail i hadnt seen before, only downside dpc looks tiny on it hehe :)
I have a similar setup... At first the screen seems HUGE but when you get used to it, you start to wish for MORE!! Awesome computer. Enjoy.
Yah, well... I upgraded from a 22" Samsung to the Dell U2711, and just for grins I rotated the Samsung portrait and stuck it next to the Dell. I used it that way for close to a year, then my son stole the Samsung when he went back to college... and now I'm thinking about getting another 22 to supplement the 27". Spoiled? Oh, yes, you get spoiled!

I have 2 screens an asus 24 inch ips and a westinghouse 20 inch run of the mill monitor from ages past.
I like to keep both around, because the Asus makes eerything look beautiful and has that wide gamut if i need it but, the westinghouse gives me a better picture of what a general run of the mill monitor may show (sure mines calibrated, but still it gives a better picture than the much higher quality asus. So ild keep the old monitor around if at all possible!

I was perfectly happy driving around my bosses AMG E55 here in South Florida.... Turns out that from 80-130 or so the E55 will just walk away from a stock Lamborghini Gallardo... ;)
Still want the 4k monitor though... It would be excellent for work and for photo editing. (I already find two 1920x1080 monitors to be cramped for space when working on technical stuff)
