Sony introduced a new DSLR today, the SLT-A99. It offers impressive specifications and many useful and powerful features. It looks like a real winner. Nikon and Canon should be concerned as this is a new paradigm for Sony to move seriously into their market leadership ranks. I must wonder if they are repackaging the CMOS sensor from the NEX7 into a DSLR. This makes sense. I own the NEX7 and love it with the Carl Zeiss glass.

i dont Canon and Nikon are worried, but its sure is great for us consumers to have so much competition.

Thank god Apple doesn't make cameras.

More details that come out about this camera the more impressed I am. I just heard that the Nikon D600 uses the same CMOS chip from Sony.

I've been very happy with my A33. The A99 makes me wish I hadn't invested in DX lenses... DOH!

To be honest, the only things I've wished I had on the A33 was a top 'settings LCD' and a second adjustment scroll wheel thingy. That, and maybe a bit less sensor noise.
