I've never bothered, but it seems like a cool (well, hot...) idea. Has anyone tried stuff like this?
I haven't and really could not justify the expense. You can get materials to camouflage your equipment and if you remember how to make a tie-dye and sew, it should be able to make what you want for next to nothing.
If you are adamant that you want something like this, I would suggest you try a surplus store first... they might just have some equipment you can use.

Yep. Red and I have bought lengths of camo fabric with various prints on it, and wrap it around our tripod legs to help hide them, we got them at LeBarron's in Ottawa; they were about $20/swatch and could provide enough material to wrap around yourself or make into a loose poncho, if you choose. I have a camo shell jacket which I found at a thrift store for $5. Ryan has his 500mm wrapped in camo tape which is fairly cheap. There are also collapsible camo blinds for about $500. Get thee to a hunting/outfitting store and you should be fine.

...Or you could save yourself a ton of money and do what I do... stand sideways and simply disappear ...OK, maybe not so much now, but I could at one time :O)
Does camouflage hide people from animals' eyes? Maybe you also want to buy a spray bottle full of animal pee to hide yourself from their noses as well?
