I just finally paid the measily $25 and became a member. I decided to do so after thinking about the value this site has provided to me. It's kept my interest in a hobby I'd somewhat forgotten. It's improved my critical thinking skills as it applies to photography. It's worth every penny.
I'm just putting this message out there as a reminder to non-members that it's easy and it's cheap. D&L are seemingly too modest to post these messages so it's up to us. Cheers. Here's to double the potential entries from me (and that saucy little 'Update' link).
Don't forget that the membership gets you into DPC prints as well. That service alone is worth the cost as it allows you to outsource everything but the photography when you're getting started.
The way I see it is that it costs money to run a web site, and if you get a lot of use out of DPC, it's probably less $$ than you spend going out to dinner for a year of supporting a very well done site. It was a no-brainer for me :)
Every time you find a few pennies on the street, put them in a jar. Everytime you have a few pennies change from buying bread or milk, put them in a jar.
I talked to a man on holiday who did this for 6 months and could then afford a 10D with 2 lenses (altho he totally filled up his drawers with coins!).
It's so little at a time, you hardly notice it's gone, and before you know it, you're rich! Your parents will never know you're not playing them back with the few coins :)
